Tension Hoops:
All Ptacek Tension Hoops are made from solid brass. They are inspired by Tension Hoops used on many professional banjos in the pre-war period. A special pattented bond is used on all Ptacek Tension Hoopes which prevents them from breaking or detachment.
Tension Hoop with notches
There are two ways of the notches lay-out (depending on the flange make):
a) Tension Hoop G - used by eg. Gibson and Stelling
- inspired by pre-war banjos
b) Tension Hoop S - used by eg. Sullivan, Ome Banjo etc.
